Ben Kay was given his Lions Test debut on the 2005 Tour of New Zealand where he picked up two Test caps.

After playing every minute of the 2003 World Cup winning campaign with England, Sir Clive Woodward drafted him in to the 2005 Lions squad where he made his debut off the bench in the 25-25 pre-Tour draw with Argentina.

Kay, who won 62 caps for England, went on to play in Tour matches against Bay of Plenty and Wellington before earning a starting berth in the first Test against the All Blacks.

Kay would not feature in a Test again on that tour but was involved in the mid-week match against Auckland.
