Bordeaux beat Bath to progress to another final

Current Champions Cup champions, Bordeaux, beat Bath 38-26 to progress to another final. It was not to be for Bath as the home team were ruthless on attack, keeping the ball alive and playing heads up rugby.

It was Bordeaux who scored first through Gazzoti in the first minute, setting the tone for the match. Bielle-Biarrey scored in the 14th minute and Lucu just before half time. Tameifuna scored in the 68th minute and Matiu in the 76 minute to bring up the 5th try. Lucu converted all the tries and kicked a penalty on half time. 

For Bath, Muir scored two tries in the first half, Hennessey in the 60th minute and Carr-Smith on full time. Russel could only convert 2 conversions.

What went wrong for Bath?

Bath struggled to keep up to Bordeaux's attacking tempo. The offloads from the home side were on target and when things got slow, the big forwards carried it up. Bordeaux made 10 line breaks and Bath only 5.

In the penalties department, Bath condeded 10 penalties and Bordeaux only 7 with Ewels receiving a yellow card.
