Demetri Catrakillis kicks off the last half of rugby of this Currie Cup season. The next forty minutes will decide where the cup rests for the off season.
Johnathon Kaplan brings a close to what could only be descrubed as an intense opening 40 minutes with both sides giving their all. There has been little in the way of try scoring chances out wide with bulk of the play being fought out in the tight. However the sheer physicality of every contest has led to an enthralling encounter.
PENALTY SHARKS. Lambie refinds his kicking from and pushes his side out to a 19-13 lead at half time with a strike from 45 metres out.
Another miss from Lambie, this time from a central position just inside the opposition half. The fly-half is having a good overall game but these misses could prove crucial.
Major let-off for Western Province. They give away a penalty after once again they fail to deal with another great restart from Patrick Lambie. Lambie can't land the easy penalty however, crashing it off the posts and the score remains 16-13 to his side.
PENALTY WESTERN PROVINCE. Demetri Catrakillis is given another chance and this time he opts for the points and makes no mistake. 16-13 to the Sharks.
How can a team with etzebeth struggle in the lineouts
Big moment as WP turn down a shot at 3 points, instead going to the corner. They lose their own line-out however.
Catrakillis sends the kick-off straight out but another massive scrum from his pack causes scrappy ball and from the resultant scrum and Western Province turn it over.
DROP-GOAL SHARKS. Patrick Lambie lands a beautiful drop goal after Western Province fail to control the restart. Great response immediately cancelling out Catrakillis's strike. 16-20 the score, Sharks lead.
