UPDATE: Hooker McInally replaced by Matthews - Scotland update squad for Rugby World Cup 2023
- 1689
Scotland have replaced injured hooker Stuart McInally with Johnny Matthews in their 33-man squad for Rugby World Cup 2023.
Former captain McInally, himself an injury replacement for Dave Cherry earlier in the tournament, suffered a neck injury in training which originally forced to him to withdraw from Scotland's match against Tonga in Nice on Sunday, 24 September.
"We are disappointed to see him go but it's a huge opportunity for Johnny Matthews who was in great form last season with Glasgow," Scotland forwards coach John Dalziel said on Monday.
