Hello and welcome to Ultimate Rugby coverage of the first of today's double header in the RBS 6 Nations. The first fixture sees the Italians play host to Scotland at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Both sides come into this one off the back of two dismal performances in round 2.
Despite a respectable performance againat Wales in round 1 the Azzurri were poor against France, conceding 3 tries and some poor discipline handing Doussain a number of easy kicks at goal. Arguably the Scots were worse in both of their first two matches with only 6 points to show for their first 160 minutes of rugby and very little options in attack.
Scot Johnson has once again baffled supporters with his selection, the exiled captain, Kelly Brown is nowhere to be seen. While the impressive Dave Denton is left warming the bench. Johnson has justified his selections in saying he wants to create some competition in side with one eye on the WRC next year. But one must wonder what sort of state his side's morale will be in if they can't pick up anything this afternoon.
The Italians have selected a impressive looking pack, including Castrogiovanni, Zanni and Parisse leaving Tommy Allan to pull the strings against the side which he represented at U20 level.
KO to come in 15 minutes, stay tune for live scores.
