Lions Watch: Six Nations Round 1 Lions XV

It is a Lions year with Andy Farrell taking charge of the team on their tour of Australia. Ireland and Scotland won with England putting up a solid 60 minute performance in Dublin but Wales were nilled in Paris. Here is our Lions XV Team of the Week.

  1. Andrew Porter - Ireland: Solid outing in the tight and the loose for Ireland

  2. Dan Sheehan - Ireland: Tough choice between Kelleher and Sheehan with Sheehan getting the nod despite being the only non starter in our Lions XV.

  3. Zander Fagerson - Scotland: 68 minutes for the tighthead and a great outing

  4. Maro Itoje - England: Superb operator and consistently England's top player, lead his team well in a tough loss

  5. Tadhg Beirne - Ireland: Very hard worker with the ability to play on the flank, lovely touches and a threat all around the park

  6. Tom Curry - England: Unusual spot on the blindside but edges Ryan Baird in their head to head

  7. Rory Darge - Scotland: Darge edges vd Flier and Morgan following a superb round 1 performance

  8. Caelan Doris - Ireland: Our Lions captain and one of the few nailed on starters in the side ahead of the Australia tests

  9. Jamison Gibson-Park - Ireland: MOTM performance and a 9 that manages both a slow and fast game with ease.

  10. Finn Russell - Scotland: Russell cruises in at 10 off Scotland's win over Italy. He edges Smith and Crowley this week.

  11. James Lowe - Ireland: Tough to bring down with a canon boot when needed, his return to test rugby after a long lay off and he cooked

  12. Bundee Aki - Ireland: Whether setting a platform or charging down the wing you would struggle to stop him first time

  13. Huw Jones - Scotland: No surprises as Jones was one of the first names on the list following a hat trick this weekend, Ollie Lawrence will feel hard done by off the back of a brilliant run out for England

  14. Tommy Freeman - England: Good under the high ball on both attack and defence and speed to burn.

  15. Blair Kinghorn - Scotland: Immense for Scotland at the back, he is enjoying a serious return to form after his move to Toulouse
