Willie Faloon is a former professional Irish rugby union player and current coach, known for his tenacious play as an openside flanker and his growing reputation in coaching. Born and raised in Armagh, he came through local rugby with Ballynahinch and the Ulster academy before making his senior debut for Ulster in 2009. Over his playing career he featured prominently for Ulster and later Connacht, earning respect for his high work-rate and effectiveness at the breakdown. During his time at Connacht he was even voted the province’s Player of the Season by supporters. Faloon also represented the Ireland Wolfhounds — Ireland’s second-tier national side — in 2011.

After retiring from playing, Faloon transitioned into coaching. He began with City of Armagh RFC and school rugby before joining the Ulster Rugby Academy as an Elite Performance Development Officer. He has held roles with Ireland’s under-20 team — including defence coach and head coach — and as of 2025 is part of the Ulster senior coaching staff, serving as defence and contact skills coach
