Eva Karpani

18th Jun 1996 1.74m/110kg Loosehead Prop

Asoiva (Eva) Karpani burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old in 2013 when she played Rugby Sevens alongside Olympic gold medallists Charlotte Caslick and Emma Tonegato at the Australian Youth Olympics Festival in Sydney.

Originally from Adelaide, Karpani had a brief stint in rugby league before realising rugby union was the code for her.

The powerful prop made her debut for Australia against Japan in 2019 and was later selected for her first World Cup in 2022.

Her major breakout season came 12 months later where she was named Wallaroos player of the year following a three-try effort against France in New Zealand during the WXV 1 tournament.

Karpani was again consistent in 2024, featuring in every match for the Australians and causing the opposition havoc.

Karpani moved to the Queensland Reds in 2025 and continued her run or form before featuring throughout the Pacific Four series, scoring two tries.

She played at her second Rugby World Cup in England, where she notched her 40th Test cap.

Karpani’s sister Simone, plays for the Newcastle Knights in the NRLW.
