Robert Kruger played his junior rugby at Pumas and Leopards before moving to the Golden Lions in 2009. He made his first class debut in the 2009 Vodacom Cup, starting against his former side, Leopards before being included in the Lions' touring squad at Super Rugby level.
He went on to make his first start against the Force in Perth the following week and also made his maiden Currie Cup appearance later in what was a watershed year for the Johannesburg-born flanker.
He is now on loan to the Lions and managed to add depth to their 2015 Super Rugby squad. Kruger made the move permanent and made 9 appearances for the side between 2016 and 2018.
He joins NTT Shining Arcs ahead of the 2018/19 Top League season.
