A veteran of two Lions Tours, Martin Corry featured in all three Tests against Australia in 2001 despite only being called up as a replacement for Simon Taylor during the Tour.
He started in place of the injured Neil Back in the first Test at flanker, before coming off the bench for the injured Richard Hill in the second. He then started the third Test at No.8 having thoroughly impressed Graham Henry during his time Down Under.
Corry had made his international debut for England four years earlier in Argentina, and after stints at Newcastle and then Bristol, it was for Leicester that he really made his mark. A key figure in their great back row in the early 2000s, he was also part of the England side that won the 2003 World Cup.
By 2005 he had been promoted to England captain, and was selected for a second Lions Tour, playing in the Test against Argentina and all three against New Zealand. He eventually retired in 2009 having won 71 Test caps, including seven for the Lions.
