Gavin Coombes

Gavin Coombes is a product of Skibbereen RFC and Bandon Grammar with physical forward captaining the latter to the quarter-finals of the 2016 Munster Schools Rugby Senior Cup.

He represented Munster at Under-18 and Under-19 levels and won the inter-provincial championships with both sides. He also represented his country at Under-18 and Under-19 levels.

He added to his youth representative tally by featuring for Ireland's U20s during the 2017 Six Nations Under 20s Championship and 2017 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

He was part of the Munster A team that won the 2016/17 British and Irish Cup and made his competitive debut for Munster in 2018, coming off the bench in their opening 2018/19 Pro14 fixture against Cheetahs.

He signed a two-year contract with Munster in October 2018 and joined the senior team from the 2019/20 season.

By June 2020, he had 4 caps for the province.
