Tiaan Falcon

Tiaan is a former Hawke's Bay Ross Shield team captain, who has also represented the Bay at under-14, 16 (twice) and 18 levels.

The accomplished goal kicker was born in Penrith, Australia and moved to New Zealand at age two. He is the son of former Maori All Black and Hurricanes representative Gordon Falcon and is a product of Lindisfarne College in Hastings.

In 2016 at just 19 years old, Falcon made his Mitre 10 Cup debut for Hawke’s Bay, demonstrating great composure and tactical nous in his 10 appearances last year.

Falcon was included in the Hurricanes wider 2017 Super Rugby squad but failed to make the final cut.

He guided the New Zealand U20s to victory in the U20 World Championship in 2017.

Falcon made his Super Rugby debut against the Blues in 2018.

Falcon had an injury-hit 2019. Rupturing his achilles tendon in pre-season training, which ruled him out of the 2019 Super Rugby season. Falcon returned to the game assisting Hawke’s Bay in making the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup Championship final.

The versatile back committed his future with the Magpies through until the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup before signing a two-year Super Rugby deal with the Chiefs in August 2017.

Falcon has been named for the Chiefs squad for the 2020 Super Rugby season. Following the completion of the disrupted Super Rugby season he announced a move to Toyota Verblitz
