Deans not in Leinster running: Former Wallaby and current Panasonic Wild Knights coach Robbie Deans has ruled himself out of taking over the Leinster job. Deans, who is coaching the Barbarians this week for their matches with Ireland and England, described the proposition as "attractive", but said that the timeline wouldn't be right for him to take over in the Irish capital. Deans told the Irish Times, “I would say it is very attractive... for someone. But not for me. Not in the timelines that would suit me at the minute." Deans refused to comment on if he had held talks with Leinster saying in rugby, it's the 'norm'.
Ireland name squad: Ireland have named their squad for the game against the Barbarians coming up on Thursday. Jamie Heaslip will captain the group against a strong Baa-Baa's group which includes, Brad Thorn, George Smith, David Smith and former Leinster stalwart Shane Jennings. The Irish squad is mainly made up of Leinster and Ulster players and the squad also includes Lansdowne full back Cian Kelleher. Kelleher, who this season won the UBL final with Lansdowne, made his debut on the last day of the season against Edinburgh and is considered as one for the future.
