Disciplinary decision: WXV Global Series 2026

World Rugby can confirm the disciplinary decisions for Cloe Correa and Ambre Mwayembe (France) and Danelle Lochner (South Africa) following their red cards in the WXV Global Series.

World Rugby can confirm the following disciplinary decisions as a result of red cards from the WXV Global Series.

• Cloé Correa (France) has been suspended for two matches
• Ambre Mwayembe (France) has been suspended for three matches, reduced to two on successful completion of the Coaching Intervention
• Danelle Lochner (South Africa) has had her matter referred for a full disciplinary hearing.

Cloé Correa (France)

Cloé Correa received a permanent red card in France's WXV Global Series match against Australia for a breach of Law 9.12 (contact with the eye area). Correa accepted foul play had occurred and that the red card was warranted. In determining the sanction, the Foul Player Review Committee (FPRC) found that there was contact with the eye area but not direct eye contact, the contact was not deliberate and there was no effect on the victim player, and therefore a low-end entry point was appropriate. Correa was awarded full 50 per cent mitigation resulting in a final proposed sanction of two matches.

The player has accepted the sanction and is therefore suspended for the following matches:

• 26 September, 2026 – WXV Global Series 2026 – France v Canada 
• 17 October, 2026 – WXV Global Series 2026 – New Zealand v France 

Ambre Mwayembe (France)

Ambre Mwayembe received a red card in France's WXV Global Series match against Australia for a breach of Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle). Mwayembe accepted foul play had occurred and that the red card was warranted. In determining the sanction, the FPRC found that Mwayembe attempted a tackle in an upright position which resulted in shoulder-to-head contact with the Australian player. The Committee found that the mandatory mid range entry point was appropriate. Mwayembe was awarded full 50% mitigation resulting in a final proposed sanction of three matches (reduced to two on successful completion of the coaching intervention programme).

The player has accepted the sanction and is therefore suspended for the following matches:

• 26 September, 2026 – WXV Global Series 2026 – France v Canada
• 17 October, 2026 – WXV Global Series 2026 – New Zealand v France 
• 24 October, 2026 – WXV Global Series 2026 – New Zealand v France* 

* The player may be available to play in this match subject to successful completion of the Coaching Intervention Programme

Danelle Lochner (South Africa)

In respect of the red card issued to Danelle Lochner, the FPRC originally referred the matter for a full disciplinary hearing which will take place on Tuesday, 22 September.
