RFU Disciplinary: Stephan Lewies, Harlequins

The case of Stephan Lewies, Harlequins, was dealt with on papers by an independent disciplinary panel chaired by Ian Unsworth KC sitting with Alastair Campbell and Mitch Read.

Lewies was cited for dangerous play in a ruck or maul contrary to World Rugby Law 9.20(b) during a match against London Irish on 29 January 2023.  The player accepted the charge and received a two-week ban.  If the player successfully completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP), he will not have to serve the second game of his ban and will be available for the fixture against Exeter on 4 March.

Lewies will miss the following games:

17/02 v Gloucester
04/03 v Exeter (subject to completing CIP)
