Pietersen miss hands Reds victory

Toyota Cheetahs flyhalf Joe Pietersen missed a crucial last-minute penalty to hand the Queensland Reds their first away win as the Australian side took the Vodacom Super Rugby encounter 18-17 in Bloemfontein on Saturday night.


Pietersen’s penalty hit the upright from right in front and if it had gone over it would have handed the Cheetahs a heroic victory, but it bounced favourably for the visitors, who were able to let the clock tick down for the victory.
