Pau beat Toulouse despite two red cards

Toulouse suffered their eighth loss of the season on Saturday falling to a 27-22 defeat at Pau despite two players being shown red cards.

Antoine Hastoy and Thomas Ramos knocked over penalties in the opening 15 minutes before tries from Steve Cummins and Tumua Manu scored tries before the half-hour mark.

However, Manu's try-scoring heroics would quickly be forgotten as the former Chiefs centre was given his marching orders for striking Toulouse back rower Alban Placines in the 50th minute.

Despite being a man down for the last eight minutes of the half, Pau managed to hold onto their 17-3 until the halftime break.

Hastoy added to the lead in the second half slotting a penalty and converting Elliot Roudil's try to make it 27-3.

Fijian centre Jale Vatubua was the second Pau player to be sent off as he shot out of his defensive line to tackle Santiago Chocobares. He hit his opposite number without the ball, with Chocobares stretchered off the pitch.

Vatubua was shown a red card for his actions.

Toulouse started their comeback soon after with Dimitri Delibes scoring just three minutes after Vatubua's sending off.

Delibes doubled up soon after to make it 27-15 with 25 minutes left to play.

Zack Holmes converted Matthis Lebel's try to make it a five-point game in the final quarter of the game but Pau managed to hold out for the 27-22 victory.
