Opoku-Gyamfi earns his Bath Rugby debut against Exeter

Featuring seven changes to last week’s starting XV, this weekend’s Blue, Black and White will see a debut for Italian international Enoch Opoku-Gyamfi, a return from injury for Will Muir and a 50th Bath Rugby run-out for Ollie Lawrence.

Retaining their positions from last week, Beno Obano and Tom Dunn start in the front row, joined by Vilikesa Sela at tighthead.

Debutant Opoku-Gyamfi will pair up with Ross Molony in the tight five.

Ted Hill and Guy Pepper are named on the flanks, seeing Alfie Barbeary brought back into the mix to complete the starting forwards pack.

Ben Spencer and Finn Russell partner at half-back, seeing Cameron Redpath brought into the fold at 12 and Ollie Lawrence at 13, earning his 50th appearance in a Bath shirt.

Will Muir will start his first game of the season on the left wing, with Henry Arundell switching across to the right wing and Santi Carreras completing the XV at full back.

Scott Kirk, Kepu Tuipulotu and Thomas du Toit are named as this week’s replacement front row.

Quinn Roux, Sam Underhill and Arthur Green complete the replacement forwards selection.

Tom Carr-Smith and Louie Hennessey are named as replacement backs in a 6-2 bench split.

The game kicks off on Saturday 3 January at 15:05 at The Rec.
