Bulls and Springbok scrumhalf Rudy Paige is set to join the Lions for Super Rugby 2018.
According to South African new paper the Rapport, the Lions have identified Paige as a replacement for Faf de Klerk, who signed for English club Sale after Super Rugby.
Paige would be the Lions' second-choice scrumhalf behind Springbok No 9 Ross Cronjé.
Richie Mo'unga called into All Blacks squad for third Bledisloe Cup Test
Canterbury & Crusaders first five-eighth Richie Mo'unga has been called into the All Blacks as temporary cover, with Beauden Barrett suffering a head knock in the Test against South Africa and Nehe Milner-Skudder suffering his season-ending shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, Patrick Tuipulotu will remain with the squad as a replacement for Luke Romano. Romano and wife Hannah recently welcomed a baby boy, and he will stay in New Zealand. Matt Todd will also remain with the squad.
Brodie Retallick will also not be travelling to Brisbane.
Wallabies squad for final Bledisloe cup clash
Karmichael Hunt re-joins the squad for the first time since the June Series, after proving his fitness in the National Rugby Championship last weekend for Brisbane City.
Fellow Queenslander Adam Korczyk has also forced his way into the squad following a series of strong performances in the NRC while Rory Arnold, Lopeti Timani and Izaia Perese have also re-joined the squad.
