Northampton celebrate after emphatically dispensing with this Sale team. Today was a show of force from the mighty Saints, proving they are serious contenders for the Premiership silverware. Sale were impressive in parts and finished on a high, but couldn't compete with this Saints outfit.

Sharks earn their first points in the final play of the game. Gaskell takes a quick penalty and bulldozes over with the support of the Shark pack. Cipriani converts.

Wilson caps a tremendous Saints effort with a second try. Roberts takes the quick tap and feeds it to Wilson. Wilson cuts back inside, fends off two, and touches down.

Courtney Lawes is announced Man of the Match whilst residing in the sin bin. He's been phenomenal both in contact and at the line-out.

Wood launches himself into Holmes at a ruck. Holmes gets back on his feet and responds by clearing Wood in turn. Lawes takes issue with Holmes and initiates a scuffle. Holmes and Lawes are then both served yellow cards.

The introduction of Ryan Lamb has sparked the Saints back into life. They capitalise on an overlap out wide when Dickson zips a pass out to Wilson, releasing him down the wing for the try.

Van Velze splits from the back of the scrum and earns his team twenty metres. On the next phase, Lamb delivers a super cross-field kick which lands perfectly for Elliot who doesn't even break stride. He touches down with not a defender in sight.
