Tipped for a bright career, David McCann attended Royal Belfast Academical Institution before going on to represented Ireland at u20 level.
McCann captained Ireland u20s in 2020 and finished his u20s career with 9 caps and two tries.
A natural leader, David McCann, took his schools’ rugby team at RBAI to the semi-finals of the 2018 Danske Bank Ulster Schools Cup. The Belfast native has also captained at Ireland U19 and U20 level and has led the Ulster ‘A’ squad.
He went on to make his debut for Ulster against Benetton in October 2020. In March 2021, Ulster confirmed that McCann will spend one year as a Development player before being upgraded to a Senior Professional contract.
