Whiting moved to Utah in 2011. He attended Lone Peak High School and played with United Rugby.
He went on to play for Park City Haggis and Rugby Utah 7s and received his first cap with the USA Eagles against Chile in February of 2017.
Whiting studied at Brigham Young University where he played for the university rugby team.
2020 saw him sign a deal with Major League Rugby side Utah Warriors.
