Akaki Tabutsadze, born on 19 August 1997, is a Georgian rugby union player who primarily plays as a wing. He currently represents Lelo Saracens in the Georgia Championship Didi 10, the top domestic rugby league in Georgia.
Tabutsadze began his senior career with Lelo Saracens and has remained with the club since then. In 2017, he had the opportunity to represent Georgia in the Junior Rugby Union World Championship held in Georgia. He later joined the Georgia rugby sevens team, participating in the Seven's Grand Prix Series in 2017. He was subsequently called up again the following year.
Tabutsadze also had the chance to represent Georgia XV in a summer tournament that featured Racing 92, Argentina XV, and Brazil. In early 2020, he received his first call-up to the Georgia national rugby union team for a match against Spain.
He continued to be called up for subsequent matches, including one against Belgium, where he scored four tries. Tabutsadze was also included in the squad for the Autumn Nations Cup, a significant tournament for Georgia.
His consistent performances and notable try-scoring ability have established Tabutsadze as a valuable asset for both his club and the national team. As he continues his rugby career, he will likely contribute to the growth and success of Georgian rugby.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Tabutsadze has been named in the squad for Georgia.
