Premiership Rugby Round 9 review

Round 9 of Gallagher Premiership Rugby produced a trio of big wins before a Big Game draw and a dramatic denouement at Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs are finally up and running with their first win of the campaign, while Harlequins and Leicester Tigers played out a thriller in front of a packed-out Allianz Stadium.

And with big home wins for Bath Rugby and Northampton Saints, after Sale Sharks had set the ball rolling with a stunning victory at Ashton Gate, there was no shortage of excitement between Christmas and New Year.

Here are 10 of the standout statistical headlines from Round 9:

• Will Muir scored the only hat trick of Round 9, made a round-high 161 metres, and seven clean breaks - more than any other player in a match this season.
• Greg Fisilau made more carries than any other player at the weekend, a total of 21. He also made nine tackles.
• Ollie Lawrence scored a try at the weekend, made the joint-most dominant carries (six), and the joint-most offloads (five) in Round 11.
• Cadan Murley scored two tries, made 157 metres, and five clean breaks at the weekend.
• Tom Wyatt beat a round-high eight defenders at the weekend, made three clean breaks, and a total of 87 metres.
• Chunya Munga made the joint-most tackles in Round 9 - a total of 22 - and missed none.
• Ben Curry made 22 tackles at the weekend - as many as any other player - three of which were dominant, and also won two turnovers.
• Against Chiefs, Lewis Ludlow won three turnovers for the second weekend on the trot - more than any other player in Round 9.
• Ollie Hassell-Collins made five dominant tackles in Round 9 - as many as any other player. No other winger has made more than two in a match this season.
• Ernst van Rhyn made the joint-most dominant tackles in Round 9, a total of five. He has now made 14 this season - second in the league.
