April 2023, Christie was selected as a coach for the New Zealand Women's team, The Black Ferns. Christie coached Matatu to the Super Rugby Auipiki title this year. Christie says it is an absolute honour to be selected to join the Black Ferns, which was a dream of his, to coach at this level.
