Brendan Venter is a former a Springbok centre who was on the bench for the famous 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. Earlier in his career Venter represented South Africa Schools, the Junior Springboks, South Africa U20's.
Venter represented the Springboks from 1994 to 1999 and earning 17 caps along the way. Venter represented the Cheetahs and Western Province in Currie Cup and Super Rugby. In 1997 Venter joined London Irish on a two-year deal and returned to the club in 2001 in a player/coach role.
In 2003 Venter turned his focused solely on his medical career in Cape Town, until the Stormers came with a position which he accepted. It was only in 2009 that Venter returned to London, this time with the newly South African owned side, Saracens, initially as a consult but later taking on the role of director after Eddie Jones's departure in 2009.
Venter would go onto a coaching position at the Sharks and in 2017 made an advisory position with Italy a permanent one, as their defence coach.
In April 2017, the former Springbok midfielder was confirmed to have joined the Springboks in a defence coach role.
