THROWBACK: When Bryan Habana scored a hattrick for the Babas against the All Blacks

A hat-trick of tries by Springbok Bryan Habana inspired the Barbarians to only their second-ever win over New Zealand back in 2009.

The star-studded side coached by former Springbok coach Nick Mallet included in the World Cup-winning Springbok flyer which also featured former All Black flyer Joe Rococoko and Wallaby ace Drew Mitchell creating a deadly back trio.

Habana was joined in the side by a number of his fellow countryman with superstar centre Jaque Fourie lining up alongside Wales great Jamie Roberts.

Matt Giteau and Fourie du Preez starred in halfback roles with the pack littered with test internationals. Italy's Salvatore Perugini started at loosehead with Bismarck du Plessis at hooker and future Scotland International WP Nel at tighthead. Carlo del Fava (Italy) packed down in the second row alongside Victor Matfield with Rocky Elsom, Schalk Burger and George Smith started in the back row.

The bench was just as impressive as the starting XV with Stephen Moore (Australia), Tendai Mtawarira (South Africa), Quintin Geldenhuys (Italy), Andy Powell (Wales), Will Genia (Australia), Morne Steyn (South Africa) and Leigh Halfpenny (Wales) all warming the bench.

Habana notched two dazzling breakaway scores in the first half with the All Blacks replying with a Ben Smith try. Giteau and Morne Steyn combined to set up Habana for his third, and Steyn's late penalty ended New Zealand's 100% record in the final game of their tour.

 The All Blacks had rested a number of players but were still able to field an incredible line up that included the likes of Richie McCaw, Cory Jane, Ben Smith, Luke McAlister, Liam Messam and Rodney So'oialo.
