Review: Australia vs Wales
After a hard fought 80 minutes, Australia have completed Pool A with 4 wins from 4. The Wallabies were undoubtedly deserved winners, thanks to their valiant defensive effort, in particular, in the second half.
Despite being two men down with Will Genia and Dean Mumm in the bin, Australia denied Wales of a try with some great defending on their line for nearly 10 minutes.
Bernard Foley secured the victory for the Wallabies, thanks to his impressive kicking from the tee, scoring 5/6.
Today's result means that Australia will face Scotland in the quarter-final and Wales will face South Africa.
MOTM - Gareth Davies
Despite the loss, Davies was the stand-out player of the fixture. The scrum half caused problems for Australia's defense, as he constantly looked for space around the fringes of the breakdown and scrums. With players like Pocock doing everything possible to slow down Wales' attack, Davies did very well to keep their attack at a high tempo.
