Italy name side to tackle the Wallabies

 Kieran Crowley, Head Coach of the Italian Men's Rugby Team, has made official the formation that will face Australia on Saturday 12 November at 2 pm at the Franchi Stadium in Florence, the second Test Match of the Autumn Nations Series for Italy which will be broadcast live on TV8 and Sky Sport Arena.

It will be the match number 21 between the two teams, the thirteenth in Italy and the third in Florence almost ten years after the last match at the Franchi stadium with the Wallabies who overcame Italy 22-19.

Four changes in the starting XV compared to the match won against Samoa 49-17 at the Plebiscito Stadium in Padua on Saturday 5 November. Unpublished enlarged triangle formed by Capuozzo - returning from the first minute - Bruno and Ioane, both authors of two goals each against Samoa on their debut in the Autumn Nations Series.

The pair of centers formed by Brex and Morisi has been confirmed, while the keys to the median will be entrusted again to Garbisi and Varney, the latter named player of the match against Samoa.

In the third line confirms for Lorenzo Cannone with the shirt number eight and for captain Lamaro, while Sebastian Negri returns to the starting lineup who missed the Summer Tour due to injury. In the second line together with Federico Ruzza will be Niccolò Cannone: 11 years after the last time (Ireland-Italy in the Rugby World Cup 2011, 2 October) there will be again a pair of brothers who will take the field from the first minute. On the front line, together with Fischetti and Ferrari, Lucchesi sees himself from the first minute.


Nicotera, Nemer, Ceccarelli, Sisi, Halafihi, Alessandro Garbisi, Allan and Menoncello are ready to take over from the bench.

New Zealand whistle Brandon Pickerill will referee the match.


“We started off on the right foot against Samoa, but now that game is a thing of the past and we are thinking about the present. We will face a level team, like Australia. We worked at our best this week: playing to our full potential we can put our opponents in difficulty, ”said Kieran Crowley.
