Michele Lamaro, born on June 3, 1998, is an Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a flanker for Benetton in the United Rugby Championship. He has also represented Italy at the international level, making his test debut against France in the Autumn Nations Cup.

Lamaro began his rugby career playing for the Roman club Unione Sportiva ASD Primavera Rugby. He later moved to Lazio Rugby, where he competed in the U18 championship. Afterward, he joined Petrarca Rugby, with whom he won the Scudetto and was named the best player in the league.

In the 2018-19 Pro14 season, Lamaro was named a Permit Player for Benetton. However, he suffered an injury in February 2019, which took nearly a year to recover from. He returned to action in February 2020, helping his team secure a victory over Cardiff.

As of the end of the 2022 season, Lamaro holds the position of captain for Benetton Rugby. His leadership has been instrumental in the team's performance.

Lamaro has been part of the Italian national setup, representing the country at the Under 20 level from 2016 to 2018. In November 2020, he earned his first senior international cap for Italy. In October 2021, Lamaro was appointed captain of the Italian national side, leading them in the 2021 end-of-year rugby union internationals.

One of Lamaro's notable achievements came in 2022 when he captained Italy to their first win in 36 games in the Six Nations, defeating Wales in the final round of the 2022 Six Nations Championship.

His impressive performances have cemented his place in the national team, and he continues to make valuable contributions as a talented flanker on the field.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Lamaro has been named in the squad for Italy.
