Pierre Bruno, born on June 28, 1996, is an Italian professional rugby union player known for his position as a wing. He currently plays for Zebre Parma in the United Rugby Championship.
Throughout his career, Bruno has represented several clubs, including Mogliano and Calvisano. During the 2017-18 Pro14 season, he was named as an Additional Player for Zebre, further contributing to his experience and development as a player.
At the youth level, Bruno's talents were recognized, and he was named in the Italy Under 20 squad in both 2015 and 2016. He continued his progression and was subsequently selected for the Emerging Italy squad in 2017 and 2018, showcasing his potential and dedication.
On November 8, 2021, Bruno received a call-up to the Italy A squad for the 2021 end-of-year rugby union internationals, further solidifying his status as a promising player. Later that month, on October 31, he was selected by head coach Kieran Crowley to be part of the Italy 34-man squad for the same international series.
Bruno made his debut for Italy on November 20, 2021, in a match against Uruguay, where he scored a try in Italy's 17-10 victory. He continued to make his mark in the sport and was selected by Crowley for the 2022 Six Nations Championship. However, his tournament debut against Ireland was cut short due to a controversial refereeing decision that led to his early substitution after just 20 minutes.
Despite the setback, Bruno remained an integral part of the Italian team, featuring in matches against Scotland and making significant contributions. In the November 2022 Autumn internationals, he played a pivotal role in Italy's victories over Samoa (49-17) and Australia (28-27), where he scored multiple tries.
Bruno's performances highlight his potential and impact as a winger, and he continues to contribute to the Italian national team and Zebre Parma in the United Rugby Championship.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Bruno has been named in the squad for Italy.
