Wasps ended Leicester's remarkable unbeaten run as they emerged 16-13 home winners in round 13 of the Premiership. A penalty try just three minutes in saw Wasps open the scoring, with Leicester picking up a yellow card in the process.
Despite being a player down, Leicester kept the scoreboard ticking over, kicking two penalties to pull within a point at 7-6. The Tigers then missed two shots at goal, but did hit the front with the game's first try after 32 minutes to make it 13-7.
Leicester picked up their second yellow card of the half just before halftime, but Wasps missed a penalty with the final play of the half. Two Wasps penalties in quick succession approaching the hour mark saw them draw level at 13 apiece heading into the final quarter.
Wasps had their tails up and edged ahead with another penalty after 68 minutes to set up a tense finish to the match. Despite some nery moments with full time approaching, Wasps held on to hand the Leicester Tigers their first defeat of the season.
