The Springboks level the series with a a significantly better performance following their loss last week to the All Blacks. The hosts came out firing early on and looked to be in control despite New Zeland staing in the hunt. Here are the Player Ratings for the South African team.
- Gerhard Steenekamp - 6 | Good outing
- Deon Fourie - 6 | Surprise starter and he did well barring the missed tackle on Savea that was costly but officially the oldest Springbok to play a test
- Thomas du Toit - 7 | Huge return from the giant that can play on both sides, an assett to Erasmus and Co
- Eben Etzebeth - 8 | Defensive line out master and thre himself around, getting back to his best
- Ruan Nortje - 6 | Quiet on first watch but did not put a foot wrong

- Siya Kolisi - 8 | The Bok captain is a difference maker and he came out with a point to prove
- Pieter-Steph du Toit - 7 | The first Springbok to win a test against the All Black on his 100th test. Solid outing
- Jasper Wiese - 7 | Not as ruthless as last week but had plenty of work to do against a team targeting him
- Cobus Reinach - 7 | A good game but had much cleaner ball from his pack compared to Williams last week, three try assists is impressive
- Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu - 7 | A more balanced game at 10 saw the Boks look better, covered 15 well
- Ethan Hooker - 7 | Underrated performance, superb both sides pf the ball
- Damian de Allende - 7 | Redemption game to have that performance in his 101st test

- Jesse Kriel - 7 | Despite a lot of missed tackles he was exceptionally busy and in the All Black passing lane
- Cheslin Kolbe - 8 | 100% goal kicker and probably the best winger in the world
- Damian Willemse - 6 | Positioning still exceptional but struggled with some poor kicks in defence

- Malcolm Marx - 9 | Man mountain and our MOTM
- Ox Nche - 7 | Huge performance on his 50th test
- Wilco Louw - 7 | A big man making up a big bomb squad
- Lood de Jager - 5 | Yellow carded but the Springboks will be glad he is back
- Andre Esterhuizen - 6 | Used at 'flank' with plenty of midfield runs he is settling in as a forward
- Cameron Hanekom - 6 | Not poor
- Morne vd Berg - 6 | Timely change and handled himself well
- Manie Libbok - 6 | Missed tackles not ideal but they were in the wide channels with mostly little effect, fronted up on D with little chance on attack
