Charles Ollivon to captain France against Japan, Ntamack and Dupont rested

Charles Ollivon will take over the captain's armband for France's two-test series against Japan in July.

 

France head coach Fabien Galthie has named a 42-man squad to travel to Japan with the likes of Antoine Dupont, Gael Fickou and Romain Ntamack given the summer off to rest.

 

In Dupont's absence, Galthie has included highly rated Racing 92 scrumhalf Nolann Le Garrec while Lyon scrumhalf Baptiste Couilloud has also been added to the squad.

 

Toulon's Baptiste Serin misses out on the squad with Bordeaux's Maxime Lucu named in the squad.

 

There are fourteen uncapped players in the squad, they are: Matthias Haddad (La Rochelle, back-rower), Thomas Jolmes (Bordeaux, lock/back-rower), Thomas Laclayat (Oyonnax, prop), Thomas Lavault (La Rochelle, lock), Mathis Perchaud (Bayonne, lock), Rémi Piquette (La Rochelle, lock), Yoan Tanga (Racing 92, back-rower), Bastien Vergnes Taillefer (Bordeaux, back-rower), Remy Baget (Bayonne, winger), Romain Buros (Bordeaux, fullback), Jule Favre (La Rochelle, centre/winger), Nolann Le Garrec (Racing 92, scrumhalf), Louis Le Brun (Castres, utility back), Aymeric Luc (Toulon, Fullback/winger), Enzo Reybier (Oyonnax, winger), Max Spring (Racing 92, fullbacK), and Tani Vili (Clermont, centre).


 

There are four players included from the PROD2, France's second division.
