Former Harlequin Premiership player Murray Douglas represented Melbourne Rising in 2015. The Scottish lock and flanker came out to Australia in 2014, after a successful season with club side Heriot and being captain of the Scotland Club XV side that season.

Douglas was called into the Rebels squad for the 2017 Super Rugby season. In Round 4 Douglas was named in the starting line-up for the first time to face the Chiefs.

He later signed for New Zealand side Northland Rugby ahead of the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup.

Scottish-born Douglas joins the Hurricanes after two seasons with the Melbourne Rebels.

Douglas has a Wellington connection after spending a summer with the famous Petone Rugby Club in 2012 before heading to Melbourne where he made his mark in the Dewar Shield and progressed through the Rebels development team to the Super Rugby squad.

Douglas heads into the 2018 Super Rugby season with 3 Super Rugby caps to his name and provides the Hurricanes with more versatility having spent a lot of the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup season on the side of the scrum.

He made 7 appearances for the Hurricanes in 2018 before signing a two-year deal with the Brumbies for the 2019 & 2020 Super Rugby seasons.
