Woodward makes a good break down the blind side but his pass is collected by a Waikato player. Fortunately for them they win a penalty at the ruck and set up a lineout 5m out.

Wellington putting pressure on Waikato in the dying minutes but their defense is hardworking and solid. Very frustrating for Wellington and they are doing all the playing but getting no reward

10min remaining and Wellington continue to try get something out of this match. Treeby makes an excellent break through a gap in the forwards but gets isolated and the ball is stolen at the ruck.

Just as Wellington get a wiff of a potential comeback, Waikato pull of a great backline move from a scrum and get within centimeters of the tryline. A pickup and drive thereafter leads to a try which could potentially seal the match with 13min remaining.

A poor decision by O'Donnell as he attempts to go on the short blind side of the ruck 10m out from his own tryline. He gets tackled out and from the resulting lineout, Wellington win a penalty at the ruck. Kahu taps and goes quickly and catches Waikato napping as he goes over for a very needed try.

McKenzie puts in another kick for the corner but this time it goes over the deadball line and they go back for a Wellington scrum on halfway. Waikato clearly wanting to keep Wellington in their half and not looking to run it at all. Certainly sitting on their lead.

Waikato have a scrum on halfway midfield, Weber collects the ball and kicks for the corner to set up a Wellington lineout inside their own 22m.

Wellington showing great intensity and patience and win yet another penalty after Waikato go offside once again, surely a yellow is not far away now. Wellington form a maul after the lineout but it is well defended and eventually the ball is stolen and cleared up field. Heartbreak for Wellington.
