Aspeling gets the match underway
Both teams are on the field, kick-off is just moments away
The Lions host the Kings in round 5 of the ABSA Currie Cup looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the competition.
The home side are a perfect four from four and have collected maximum points to date. With the Bulls edging out the Cheetahs on Friday night, the Lions will look to regain top spot on the log with a bonus point victory.
The visiting kings, still without a win, are coming off a narrow 24-20 home loss to the Sharks last week. However, it is off the field issues that have dominated the build up to this match.
There was uncertainty in the week whether the game would take place, following a troublesome week where it was revealed that the Kings players were not paid for their services last month. The issue was resolved and a Kings side was named late on Thursday serving as confirmation that the match would indeed take place.
