Canada left a lot of points on the table. That's always maddening, as a team, but especially as a kicker. My heart goes out to him.

Emerging nations

Canada
Fiji
Samoa
Georgia
And japan

Full time. Despite a late surge from Canada, Japan hold on to claim a brilliant victory. They did so with just 14 men for much of the second half. As expected the game went to the very end. Thanks for following with Ultimate Rugby.

Sears-Duru held up over the line. Game over!

Come on Canada!!!

Penalty Canada inside the Japan 22. They tap and go.

Canada go in search of a final try. Last play.

TRY! Carpenter claims the grounding as the maul proves too powerful for Japan.

A minute remaining. Canada form a maul off the line out and look to march towards the line.
