Kitto followed made a dozen first-team appearances in his first season with the Tigers in 2016.
He played his first rugby at Linwood and played at age-group level with Canterbury before joining Bay of Plenty and was called up to the Chiefs Development squad in 2015.
Kitto signed a new deal with Leicester Tigers until the end of the 2016/17 season, having made 24 first-team appearances for the club.
After a short spell on loan at Worcester Warriors in September 2017, the scrum-half was released from his contract at Leicester Tigers after 29 appearances and two tries scored for the club.
In November 2017, he signed a short-term deal with Harlequins as injury cover in the scrum-half position.
In August 2018 he was named in Northland's squad for the 2018 Mitre 10 Cup.
Kitto rejoined Warriors during the summer of 2019 and made his first appearance of the 2019/20 as a second half replacement in the Premiership Rugby Cup match at Wasps.
He captained Warriors to victory over Enisei-STM in Russia in November 2019 and marked the occasion with his first try for the club.
As of May 2020, the experienced scrum-half has made 15 appearances for Worcester, and has scored 10 points.
