Jack Yeandle, born on December 22, 1989, is a rugby player who currently serves as the club captain for Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership. He plays as a hooker and has become an integral part of the team's success in recent years.
Yeandle joined Exeter Chiefs from Doncaster Knights, a former rival club in the RFU Championship, along with his Doncaster teammate Alex Brown. He made his debut for the Chiefs in November 2012 in an LV= Cup match against London Welsh. Since then, Yeandle has been a regular fixture in the Exeter first team, accumulating over 200 appearances for the club.
In 2015, Yeandle took on the role of club captain when Dean Mumm decided to return to Australia. His on-field leadership and powerful play in both loose and set-piece situations have made him a vital component of the team's makeup.
One of Yeandle's career highlights came in the 2016-17 English Premiership, where he was a replacement player as Exeter Chiefs were crowned champions after defeating Wasps. He had the opportunity to lift the Aviva Premiership trophy alongside Gareth Steenson.
Under Yeandle's captaincy, the Chiefs reached two more Premiership finals, both against Saracens, but unfortunately experienced defeat on both occasions.
However, in 2020, Exeter Chiefs displayed their resilience and determination by winning the Heineken Champions Cup for the first time, defeating Racing 92 in Bristol. Just a week later, Yeandle, along with Joe Simmonds, lifted the Premiership title for a second time, defeating Wasps in a memorable final at Twickenham.
With over 240 first team appearances to his name, Yeandle remains a key figure within the Exeter Chiefs set-up. His contributions on and off the field continue to make a significant impact on the team's success and identity.
