Genge made his senior debut for Bristol in the 2013/14 British and Irish Cup, scoring six tries in 26 appearances.
The 21-year-old joined the Leicester Tigers on loan in February 2016, making five appearances.
His career unfolded with appearances for England U17, U18 and U19 and while at Hartpury, he won a player of the year award and helped the college to lift two AASE league titles.
Ellis made ten senior appearances for England and went on to play in all five matches for England U20 in the World Championship in June 2015.
He was called into the England squad for the 2016 summer tour to Australia and for the Wealth Cup game against Wales against whom he made his international debut.
Uncapped Genge has been included in England's 6 Nations squad, having started the season poorly - a strong resolve has seen Genge go from strength to strength and he has recovered admirably.
In April 2017, having already won his first cap - Genge was named in the England squad for a two-test to tour Argentina in June.
On 25th April 2017, Leicester Tigers announced Genge has agreed a new contract at Leicester.
Genge, 22, arrived at Tigers during the closing months of 2015/16, initially on loan before making the move from Bristol permanent at the start of this season.
Capped by England in the end-of-season fixture against Wales in 2016, he returned to the national squad preparing for the 2017 RBS 6 Nations and has been named in the tour party for this summer's two-Test trip to Argentina.
After making his debut for Tigers against Wasps in March 2016, Genge firmly established himself in the squad this season and has now made 33 first-team appearances for the club.
In May 2017, Genge was named in the England squad for the summer tour to Argentina & has three caps as he embarks on the 2017 OMW Series.
As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Genge has had 7 Champions Cup appearances.
