South joined the Harlequins Academy for the 2014/15 season from Whitgift School and made his debut for the Club against Gloucester Rugby in February 2015.
The second-rower made eight further appearances in the 2016/17 season - across the Aviva Premiership, European Rugby Challenge Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup - and started for Harlequins against the Maori All Blacks in the historic 150th Anniversary Challenge Match in November 2016.
An athletic and versatile forward, South has also represented his country at U18s and U20s level; winning the U20s World Cup final in 2016.
He signed a contract extension with the club in December 2017 to remain at Harlequins.
After 27 First Team appearances for Quins, South confirmed he would leave the club at the end of the 2018/19 season to join Coventry Rugby.
June 2019 saw him reverse his Coventry deal to join a Premiership outfit Exeter Chiefs. After 4 appearances for Exter, he signed PRO14 outfit Edinburgh for the 2020 season.
In November 2020, he made the move to France signing for Brive.
