Denny Solomona

27th Sep 1993 1.91m/105kg Left Wing

Denny was born in Auckland, New Zealand and played Rugby Union at College before joining the Melbourne Storm Youth Team scoring 8 tries in 13 games before he sustained a fibula injury.

He then moved to the UK in 2014 and signed for London Broncos, scoring 10 tries in 21 games before the team was relegated.

Denny joined Super League side Castleford Tigers and was shortlisted for the Man of Steel award before making his International debut for Samoa in their historical test match against Fiji in Apia in October 2016.

In December 2016, Solomona changed codes to Rugby Union when he signed a three-year deal with Sale Sharks.

In March 2017, the winger declared himself available for England after completing his three-year residency period and signing the relevant paperwork.

Soon after in April 2017, he became one of 15 uncapped players to be named in England's 31-man squad for their two-Test tour to Argentina in June 2017. He continued his stunning impact on Union by scoring a magnificent last-minute try in the first Test to earn Eddie Jones' side a dramatic 38-34 win.

In February 2018, the Sale Sharks winger signed a new four-year contract with Sale Sharks and later that year was included in the England squad to tour South Africa.

As of May 2020, the rugby league convert has scored 43 tries in 79 games for Sale.
