Su'a is a product of Mt Albert Grammar School; he was a member of the 1st XV that won the Auckland and National Championship in 2010 and went onto be selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools team.
Su’a missed out on selection for the New Zealand Under-20s through injury but returned with eye-catching performances.
