Weekend Talking Points
- 1511
In a weekend when a lot of top names were rested ahead of the November Tests there were a number of talking points to come out.
Wallabies prop, Sekope Kepu, became the first prop to reach 100 caps for Australia when he ran out for Bledisloe 3 in Japan over the weekend. Australia were beaten 37-20 on the day by New Zealand
The du Preez family can hold their head high this week after the Sharks won the Currie Cup on Saturday, beating Western Province at Newlands. The Sharks, coached by Dad Rob du Preez senior, started all 3 of his sons in the game. Jean-Luc, Daniel and Rob junior all started and were influential in the 12-17 win. Rob du Preez junior also completed back to back Currie Cup wins after last years in with Western Province beating his Dad and brothers in Durban
Player of the Week has to go to Toulouse scrum half, Antoine Dupont, who (almost) single handily secured an away win over Perpignan in the Top 14 this weekend.
Dupont provided 1 try assist and scored 3 himself. He ran 177m off 6 clean breaks and beat 9 defenders on the day. To top it all off he made all of his 16 tackles.
