Fonotia banned for three-weeks
Scarlets' centre Kieron Fonotia faced a Disciplinary Hearing on Tuesday via video conference and has been banned for three weeks.
The player was reported by the Citing Commissioner in charge for alleged infringement of Law 9.12 – A player must not physically or verbally abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to, biting, punching, contact with the eye or eye area, striking with any part of the arm (including stiff-arm tackles), shoulder, head or knee(s), stamping, trampling, tripping or kicking. Ryan Bower banned for 2 weeks
Ryan Bower of Worcester Warriors appeared before an independent disciplinary panel yesterday following his red card in the 68th minute of the match against Bristol Bears on Sunday 7 October 2018.
This was for dangerous play in a ruck, contrary to Law 9.20 (making contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders).
Toulon sign Alainu'uese
Toulon has confirmed the signing of Glasgow Warriors lock Brian Alainu'use on a one-year deal with the option of a second.
The 24-year-old New Zealander will be available for Toulon once has been approved by the LNR. Full story
Faletau to miss the November Tests
Bath have confirmed that Wales international number eight Taulupe Faletau suffered a broken arm during their Premiership clash with Exeter Chiefs.
The club confirmed the news but attached no timescale to the injury, but he is unlikely to feature in the November Internationals. Full story
Brits added to Baa-Baas squad
The Barbarians have added former Saracens hooker Schalk Brits to their squad ahead of their clash with Los Pumas at Twickenham.
The hooker was supposed to have hung up his boots after clinching a fourth Premiership crown with Saracens to go with two European Champions Cup victories. Full story
Glasgow Warriors sign Petrus du Plessis
Glasgow Warriors have signed South African front rower Petrus du Plessis from London Irish on a deal until the end of the season.
The experienced tight-head played for English Premiership side Saracens 158 times between 2009 and 2017. During that spell he won the Champions Cup twice and the English Premiership.
13 Springboks released for Currie Cup duty
Thirteen Springboks who were part of the squad for the last two Tests in the Rugby Championship, against Australia and New Zealand, were released for Currie Cup duty.

Faf de Klerk not available for Springboks’ year-end tour to Europe
Sale Sharks have confirmed that scrumhalf Faf de Klerk will not be available for the Springboks’ year-end tour to Europe.
“He was released to play for his country in the Rugby Championship, but no provision was made for next month’s tour,” Sale confirmed via an e-mail. Full story
