Waratahs Change One For Super Rugby Quarter Final

Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson has made just one change to his starting side for Saturday’s Super Rugby quarterfinal against the Highlanders, with Alex Newsome replacing Cam Clark on the right wing.

Clark drops back to the bench as Newsome gets his reward for some stong performances as a substitute in recent weeks.

“Every time he’s touched the ball, he’s really added, he’s really exciting and I think he really deserves a shot,” Gibson said.

“He’s got some excellent wingers he’s going to be up against and we know he can do the job there.”

The Highlanders were beaten by the Waratahs in Sydney this season after winger Tevita Nabura was sent off in the first half.

“These are the opportunities the guys work hard all year for and there are no second chances,” Mauger said.

“It’s simply about putting our best performance on the field on Saturday.

“The Waratahs are a quality side playing at home which presents an awesome challenge for our guys, but like I said, these are the games we love to play.”
