Wallabies Player Ratings v New Zealand - Bledisloe IV
Australia bounced back from their humiliating record defeat to New Zealand a week ago as they edged the All Blacks 24-22 in a crazy Bledisloe 4 encounter in round 2 of the Tri-Nations Championship.
The two-point victory was Australia’s seventh straight victory in Brisbane, a winning run which includes their triumph over the All Blacks in 2017 too.
The win also gives Dave Rennie his first victory as the Wallabies boss and his first over his country of birth.
Here is how we rated Rennie's men.
1.James Slipper - 6
His 100th test was cruelly cut short through injury but Slipper was notably solid in the scrum and impressed in defence with nine tackles in 40 minutes missing just one.
2.Brandon Paenga-Amosa - 7
His set pieces were accurate as the Wallabies lost just one of his lineout darts while he managed to make 25 running metres from just four carries.
He also weighed in with six tackles without missing.
3.Allan Alaalatoa - 6
Solidified the scrum in the first half and made his tackles on defence. Laid a solid platform for Tupou to capitalise on.
4.Rob Simmons - 6.5
Guilty of a few silly penalties but stepped up in his first start of the year.
Hit double digits in his tackle count while making just a single carry before being pulled 54 minutes in.
5.Matt Philip - 7
Continues to nail down the starting jumper with another solid display.
Busy in the rucks while making his tackles and winning a turnover. Another solid option in the lineout too.

Made some big hits in the first 34 minutes of the game however one of those hits lead to him being the first Wallaby to be sent off on debut.
A promising first half hour but he will need to cut down silly mistakes, like his red card, if he is to become a regular for Rennie.
7.Michael Hooper - 9
Yet to have a bad game this year for the Wallabies. Led from the front as per usual made an excellent 14 tackles and was a pest at the breakdown.
His high count of five tackles is largely down to the amount of tackles he manages to get through while he was also excellent on attack racking up 35 running metres from his 11 carries.
8.Harry Wilson - 7
Carried superbly for the Wallabies gaining 32 running metres from 11 carries.
He had one or two fumbles with ball in hand but was accurate on defence and forced three turnovers.
9.Nic White - 8
Kicked well as the Wallabies pulled a few caterpillar rucks from the Exeter playbook.
With Hodge at 10, White was always going to have to put a big performance in and he did.
He dictated play and his passes were swift and accurate while he also got under the skins of the All Blacks.
10.Reece Hodge - 8
A favourable bounce resulted in the first try of the game. Well placed to beat Jordie Barrett and it led to a very good start for the Wallabies which they built on.
A 14-point haul was key to the victory while he mixed things up well with his kicks and passes.

11.Marika Koroibete - 9
Spent 10 minutes in the bin as punishment for the rest of the team conceding penalties but Koroibete was almost a completely different player who faced the All Blacks last week.
He made an excellent try saving tackle on Sevu Reece, made more metres than any other player with ball in hand and snuffed out the All Blacks final chance to score with a massive hit on Damian McKenzie.
12.Hunter Paisami - 7
Coming into his own as a test centre. Paisami looked threatening each time he touched the ball while he made a few key interventions on defence.
A few missed tackles hurts his rating somewhat.
13.Jordan Petaia - 7
Sat down Anton Liernert-Brown early on and was aggressive throughout before he was forced off the pitch.
He was also solid defensively and the Wallabies will want to get the ball to him more often in future tests.
14.Tom Wright - 7.5
Kept his width to score just minutes into his first test and looked dangerous each time he got the ball.
He made over 50 running metres while giving little away on defence.
15.Tom Banks - 7
Great pick up and offload to set up Tom Wright for his first try just two minutes into his debut.
Banks was solid in all facets without threatening too much.
Substitutes:
16.Folau Fainga'a - 6
Picked up a try assist and made three strong carries
17.Angus Bell - 6.5
Held his own against the All Black tightheads. Performed well in all facets as he got more minutes than he would have ever expected.
Didn't look out of place at all.
18.Taniela Tupou - 8
His bulking carries were key to the Wallabies win as too was his try. He picked up from where Alaalatoa lefted off in the scrum.
19.Ned Hannigan - 6
Made strong carries, forced a turnover and made all of his attempted tackles in 30 minutes.
20.Liam Wright - 6
Solid on defence with a single strong carry.
21.Tate McDermott - 6.5
Sped the Wallabies attack up and made smart decisions. Hardly put a foot wrong in 15 minutes.
22.Noah Lolesio - 6
Kept the attack ticking over and controlled the latter stages.
23.Filipo Daugunu - 5
Didn't see the ball for 15 minutes. Wasn't asked too do much at all.
