Wales Rugby Union chief executive Roger Lewis to quit after World Cup following nine years' service
Roger Lewis, the group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, will quit following the World Cup in October after nine years in the post.
Lewis, a former head of music at Radio One, said it was the “right for me to step down” after what he described as a “remarkable period at the helm”.
Lewis, who left the post of ITV Wales managing director to join the WRU, has overseen the most successful era for the Wales side since the 1970s, including Grand Slam triumphs in 2008 and 2012 and the Six Nations title in 2013.
