Top 14, Round three sees Bordeux and Racing 92 clash heads
- 425
A real face-off between UBB and Racing 92, the elusive Aymeric Luc and an emotional match for Louis Carbonel... Here is the 3rd day of TOP 14.
THE MATCH > UBB-Racing 92, striking resemblance
The two teams that will meet on Saturday evening at 9 p.m. in Chaban-Delmas are strangely similar. Indeed, for the moment the course of the Bordelo-Béglais (7th) and the Racingmen (4th) is in all respects similar. Both saw the joy of an away victory slip through their fingers in the last seconds and both succeeded in their first at home despite a bit of frustration. Both are also looking for certainties and want a reference match to reassure themselves. It is certainly a little early, but a victory in this weekend's clash could be an important element. It must be said that high-level duels will flourish on the Gironde pitch. Lucu-Le Garrec, Jalibert-Farrell, Fickou-Depoortère, Gray-Taofifenua, Poirot-Laclayat… And the list could still grow. The dates are set for this gala match which will once again be played in a packed Bordeaux arena.
STAT > 15. Catch me if you can
This is the total number of tackles broken by Aymeric Luc this season. In green, the new Béarnais is elusive. Still as lively and impactful, the full-back who played for Bayonne and Toulon already has 2 tries to his name with a double scored against his favorite club, Aviron Bayonnais. Injured and prey to doubts about the Rade, Luc has chosen to return to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques to wear the colors of a team whose game seems to suit him perfectly. The opportunity is his to confirm this renewal during the perilous trip of Section Paloise (9th) to Marcel-Deflandre, this Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
THE PLAYER > Carbonel, from the harbor to the capital
The new Parisian fly-half has Red and Black blood. Each match against the RCT must also give him a strange feeling. Indeed, Louis Carbonel is preparing to face his lifelong club for the 5th time in his career. A club in which his father Alain flew the flag with a 1987 French championship title, a club with which he made his debut. No room for sentiment, however, because as a great professional Louis has a record of 2 wins in 4 reunions, when he wore the MHR jersey. For the one on Sunday at 9 p.m. between Stade Français (11th) and Toulon (6th), he will not give any gifts in wanting to prove that he is now more a player from the Capital than from the Rade.
THE PROGRAM > Derbies in Occitanie, Vannes wants to push back the pack
Big day of derbies in Occitanie. First of all, the last two French champion teams open the show this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Hérault. MHR (8th) hosts the leader Toulouse and intends to add a cross in the defeat box of the Red and Blacks who are currently undefeated. In the same region from 4:30 p.m., Castres (5th) hosts Perpignan (13th) with on one side the Tarnais frustrated to have seen victory slip through their fingers at Mayol and on the other the Perpignanais unhappy with their performance against Montpellier in Béziers. In Clermont (3rd), the good start to the season can still be enhanced in the event of success against Bayonne (12th) wishing to react following the rout recorded at the Stade du Hameau. During the Multiplex, we will have to keep an eye on Vannes (14th) who hope to secure the first victory in their history in TOP 14. But watch out for LOU (2nd) who have character and sharp teeth at the start of this season.
